On 09-21-20 at 9:46 AM, Officer Kai Waldo stopped a pick-up truck on Daisy Ln. due to the vehicle not having a tag. The driver was identified as Ricky Womack, 30 years old, from Douglasville. During the investigation it was determined that WomackÂ’s license had been suspended and he had active warrants through Carroll and Douglas County.
Officer Waldo placed Womack under arrest and during a search found methamphetamine in WomackÂ’s pocket. As the officers were searching the truck, Cpl. Spencer Crawford found a small suspected explosive device made out of PVC pipe. Cpl. Crawford also located a Haralson County Department of Transportation traffic saw horse in the bed of the truck.
GBI Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit responded and met with the officers at the police department. The GBI Agents were able to open the PVC pipe without igniting the contents. The contents have been sent to a lab for testing.
Womack was charged with No Tag on Vehicle, Suspended License, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and Transporting an Explosive Device.
