Carrollton Middle School eighth grader Reese Roenigk was selected to the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) All-State Middle School Band.
Three students represented Carrollton City Schools in the GMEA All-State Band. Sophomore Demarcus Burch and freshman Xander Adams made the all-state concert band for grades 9-10. CMS eighth grader Reese Roenigk was selected for the all-state middle school band. Each student demonstrated mastery in the two-part audition process to earn a place in the band, beating out thousands of students across the state who auditioned for the select number of spots for each instrument. The students performed scales, a prepared etude, and a sight-reading selection for judges. Notably, Xander Adams was named first chair tuba.
