(Carrollton, Georgia). Central High School seniors were awarded $1,000 scholarships from the Carroll EMC Foundation. Haven Lester and Lorelei Daugherty were recipients of the annual Foundation awards.

One of the seven guiding principles for Carroll EMC is “concern for community.” Since its formation in 1936, Carroll EMC has demonstrated its dedication to improving the quality of life for people in western Georgia. The Cooperative does this by not only providing affordable electric service to member-owners, but also by investing in the communities where west Georgians live and work. Foundation trustees are appointed by the Carroll EMC Board of Directors to be good stewards of our member’s money. Since inception, nearly $5 million has been given back into the communities served by Carroll EMC. In 2023 the foundation awarded more than $100,000 in Bright Idea Grants to classroom teachers and $70,000 in scholarship monies to students graduating from high school and those earning post-secondary degrees.
