The Georgia State Patrol released their pre-liminary investigation report Wednesday morning.
According to GSP, around 5:15 pm Tuesday:
Vehicle 1, a Ford Escape, was traveling north on Georgia Highway 166 in the left turn lane.
Vehicle 2, a Carroll County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, was traveling south on Georgia Highway 61 in the left lane.
The driver of the Ford failed to yield while turning left pulling into the path of passing Carroll County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
The area of impact was determined to be in the intersection of Georgia Highway 166 and Georgia Highway 61.
Witness statements confirmed the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office vehicle had the green light, and the Ford turned into the path.
The Carroll County Deputy was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
