Carroll County deputies have made an additional arrest relating to the homicide of a 70-year old Villa Rica woman last weekend.
Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Communications Director Ashley Hulsey said that on May 22, 2022, Carroll County Deputies responded to a 911 call advising there was an elderly female deceased at a residence in the 400 block of Askin Creek Road, Villa Rica. Deputies arrived on scene and determined the female, identified as 70-year-old, Clovis Pruitt was deceased as a result of a possible gunshot wound.
Interviews were conducted with individuals who were on scene during the incident which lead to a confession by the victim’s grandson, 31 year old Dakota Greenwood of Villa Rica that he was responsible for shooting and killing his grandmother.
On Thursday, authorities announced another arrest in connection with the alleged murder.
Deborah Kayleigh Freeman, age 26 was arrested and charged with Tampering with Evidence-Felony when she attempted to clean up the crime scene by mopping up the blood on the floor next to the body of the victim.
The case is still under investigation and more charges could occur.
