Bremen Police Chief Keith Pesnell says a man who entered a Bremen bank Tuesday afternoon and suggested to a teller that he wanted $100,000, left the bank with significantly less. Investigators are following a number of leads to identify him.
Pesnell told WLBB Radio that a black male wearing a cap and ‘Covid’ mask entered the Bank OZK off the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 78 at approximately 1:30pm Tuesday.
“He gave the teller a note that suggested he wanted $100,000,” Pesnell said. “The teller informed him that she did not have access to that amount. The suspect then said give me what you have. She handed over a smaller amount of money… and he left the scene.”
No injuries have been reported.
The getaway vehicle is described as a silver Toyota RAV-4.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance cameras and available FLOCK video to determine the direction the suspect fled. They initially believe he left the area via Interstate-20.
