Art Teachers Benefit From CCWC Gift

CARROLLTON, GA –  The Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club once again has demonstrated its commitment to supporting art education with recent donations to Carrollton and Carroll County teachers who participated in the Art Educators Exhibition at the Carrollton Center for the Arts.

Carrollton Elementary School art teachers Amy Boehms and Aironnya Ayala were featured earlier this week in a shoutout to the club on the Center for the Arts Facebook page.

“The Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club helped to support the next generation of artists by giving a stipend to each teacher participating in the Art Educators exhibit to use for their classrooms and instructional spaces,” the post read. “We thank the members of CCWC for caring about the arts, teachers and students.”

Boehms said the support is much appreciated and comes at opportune time.

“Receiving a stipend from CCWC meant so much to us because it validates the importance of art education,” she said. “During the pandemic, we all have had to use creativity in adapting to a new way of doing things. Now that the majority of our students are back at school, we have noticed they are more eager than ever to learn and connect through art. Our students need the creative outlet to engage, imagine and express their feelings and ideas, more than ever before!”

For those who would like to see the exhibit, BoehmsÂ’, AyalaÂ’s and other teacher artistsÂ’ works will be on display through this Sunday, Sept. 27.

Carrollton Civic WomanÂ’s Club members Eleanor Hoomes and Joyce McArthur presented a stipend to Carrollton Elementary art teachers, Amy Boehms and Airyonna Ayala, at the opening reception of the Art Educators Exhibit at the Carrollton Center for the Arts.
