On January 29, 2025, deputies responded to both Tolbert and Winters Road in reference to multiple burglaries, entering autos and thefts. One victim reported the theft of a Polaris RZR valued at approximately $20,000. Deputies took additional reports of chain saws and landscaping equipment, along with a report of Entering Auto where a Smith and Wesson .38 Special was taken. The victim of the Polaris RZR followed the tire tracks from his property on Winters Road to another house in the 1100 block of Winters Road. Deputies obtaining the information contacted the Criminal Investigative Division as well as the Crime Suppression Unit. A Quick Reaction Force (QRF) consisting of investigators, deputies and CSU members saturated the area and maintained surveillance on these properties.
Sgt. Jason Bowman took the lead in the investigation and secured two search warrants for properties in the 1100 block Winters Road. Upon execution of the search warrants, Sgt. Bowman located the Polaris RZR immediately. Three individuals on scene were placed in custody at this time. Investigators and CSU members continued the search and were able to recover all of the stolen property that had been reported. The crime scene was photographed and processed for further evidence.
During the search warrant service, a Yamaha Timberwolf ATV was present on the property but did not come back as stolen. Later that day after all units left the area, that ATV was reported stolen, so deputies went back out to the property and recovered it for the victim.
