On January 6, 2024, at approximately 07:00 PM, Officers Donovan Robinson and Victoria Hamilton were dispatched to Hampton Court on Industrial Boulevard in reference to shots being fired in the apartment complex. Both officers located shell casings in the parking lot and began processing the crime scene as well as canvassing for potential witnesses. At the conclusion of their investigation, Officers Robinson and Hamilton turned the evidence over to Detective Chris Rowan for follow-up.
Detective Rowan began following up on leads and was able to identify the shooter as 29-year-old Kyle Joseph Theriot, of Temple, GA. Detective Rowan took Mr. Theriot into custody on 01/09/2024. Currently, Mr. Theriot is charged with criminal damage to property, reckless conduct, and discharging a firearm near a highway. Detective Rowan is still working on the case and gathering additional information.
“I appreciate the initial on-scene investigation conducted by Officers Robinson and Hamilton. The evidence they collected was vital in being able to identify Mr. Theriot as the shooter. Detective Rowan did an excellent job in his follow-up investigation and getting Mr. Theriot into custody quickly. This is a perfect example of the teamwork between patrol officers and detectives that is essential for a law enforcement agency to succeed.”
