Roopville Woman Charged With Child Molestation Twice In One Week

Less than one week after being charged with child molestation – due to an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old boy—a 24-year-old Roopville woman is back behind bars in Carroll County, accused of repeating certain actions that led to her arrest last week.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office – last Friday September 8th – deputies were contacted in reference to a 14-year-old male runaway.

“The investigation was later turned over to Sgt. Hope.  Upon Sgt. Hope speaking with the complainant/Aunt, she advised the juvenile may possibly be at an address on Tumlin Creek Rd Roopville Ga with a 24- year-old female who was later identified as McKenzie Cook.  The Aunt further advised of having learned of there being an inappropriate relationship between her nephew and McKenzie as he had shown other juveniles images of himself and McKenzie on his cell phone. The devices were later turned over to Sgt. Hope and the consent form was signed.

Deputies were unsuccessful of getting anyone to the door at the Tumlin Lake Road address on multiple attempts.

Sgt. Hope was later able to obtain a contact number for McKenzie and ten minutes later after obtaining the number through a relative of Mckenzie’s the juvenile returned back home to his residence.

Sgt. Hope contacted McKenzie who initially denied the male being at her residence but ultimately acknowledged that he was there and had previously come to her residence on the night of 9/5/23.

Upon completion of a forensic extraction of both the cell phone and tablet inappropriate images were located.  Sgt. Hope later secured arrest warrants for McKenzie Cook for Child Molestation and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.”

On Thursday September 14th Cook was arrested again. A CCSO Official telling WLBB Radio: ‘Yes, she was charged the same thing for doing the same thing.’

A full report regarding the latest arrest was not available late Thursday.

Cook faces additional charges of interference with custody, hindering law enforcement officers, and violation of bond. She remains in the Carroll County Jail on Friday.
