On December 21, 2019 Officers received a call in reference to a disturbance at the Circle K Gas Station located at the intersection of Linda Lane and Highway 27. As Officers were en route a Carroll County Investigator pulled into the store and observed an altercation involving a suspect with a shovel. The Investigator entered the store and was struck by the suspect in the head with the shovel and the suspect was shot. The Investigator has been transported to the hospital and his condition is not being released at this time.
The suspectÂ’s identity is not being released at this time due to notifications of family has yet to be made.
As is protocol with any Officer Involved Shooting, the GBI is en route and will be conducting an investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
