Carrollton Police are investigating a shooting death which occurred New YearÂ’s Day morning inside a local townhouse.
Officers responded to 212 Nizzear Lane at about 4:30am Wednesday in reference to a shooting at the residence.
Investigators say a female and male had been involved in an altercation inside.
“At this time we believe the female was being assaulted by the male and the female produced a handgun and shot the male multiple times,” Captain Shannon Cantrell said Wednesday. “The male has been identified as 36 year old Lynn Reid from Michigan. He was pronounced dead at Tanner Medical Center. No other witnesses at the residence were injured.”
Cantrell says the investigation is on going and no charges have been filed at this time.
