Golden Giving Celebration To Be Held At Second Home Football Game

CARROLLTON, GA—The Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation recently launched its Golden Giving campaign during the district’s back-to-school celebration. The annual launch garners support from community members and district employees alike, all united in their commitment to expanding educational experiences for students.

The Golden Giving campaign offers community members a simple way to contribute, whether through a one-time donation or ongoing support. This year, the foundation is mainly focused on funding field trips for students who otherwise might be unable to participate.

“Field trips are a fantastic way to enrich learning beyond the classroom walls,” said Kristen Gill, the foundation’s executive director. “Thanks to our generous donors, more students can experience these unique and valuable opportunities.”

This year’s campaign officially launched on July 31, with nearly 400 district employees jump-starting the drive. Superintendent Dr. Mark Albertus emphasized the impact of even small contributions, noting that just $10 per month from each employee quickly adds up, with 100 percent of donations benefiting students.

Albertus shared that last year alone, the foundation awarded scholarships to 40 students, provided 68 teacher grants, and helped nearly 1,900 students attend field trips.

“We take great pride in serving a diverse student body, and with that comes the responsibility of addressing some of our students’ significant needs,” said Albertus. “Many of our students have never ventured beyond Carrollton’s city limits. This campaign enables us to provide them with broader learning experiences through our field trip initiatives.”

As part of the campaign, fans attending the home football game on Friday, Aug. 30, are encouraged to wear gold in support of the “Gold Out” celebration. To become a Golden Giver, visit https://bit.ly/giveforgold or sign up at the Carrollton vs. Rome game next week.
