A Carroll County deputy shot and killed a man last night who had allegedly pointed a gun at officers. It happened around 11:00 at the West Lakeview Estates on West Lakeview Drive and Bar J Road in Temple.
Investigators say a man who was acting eratically pointed what turned out to be a BB gun at officers.
They opened fire, and he died later in the hospital.
No deputies were injured.
Neighbors say the man was in the habit of acting strangely, walking around and talking to himself.
The GBI is investigating, which is of course routine in officer involved shootings in Georgia. Â
