A 33-year-old Carrollton man is behind bars in Bartow County after police said he used several false identities to obtain powerful prescription painkillers close to 30 times since the summer of 2017 at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton.
The Cherokee multi-agency narcotics squad believe Dustin James Funk used false names to receive treatment and prescription pain medication like hydrocodone, oxycodone and tramadol from the hospitalÂ’s emergency room.
Further investigation into FunkÂ’s activities has also allegedly tied him to other crimes around the northern metropolitan area. He now faces 79 felony charges. Police say their investigation is not over.
