The imminent departure of Haralson County Commission Chairman Allen Poole has resulted in another departure from the Board of Commissioners.
District 3 Commissioner Ronnie Ridley told WLBB Radio Wednesday that he will resign from his seat in order to run for the soon-to-be-vacant Chairman role.
RidleyÂ’s announcement has prompted a former Haralson County firefighter to be the first person to notify WLBB Radio of his own intention to seek the soon-to-be-vacant District Three seat.
Haralson County Elections Supervisor Vaughan Gable says the qualifying period for the election of County Chairman and County Commissioner-District 3 will take place on February 6,7, and 8. Voters will decide both positions on Tuesday, March 19.
Poole is expected to accept a job within the administration of new Governor Brian Kemp.
Ridley will resign from his role as District-three commissioner one day before qualifying begins in order to run for Chairman.
34-year old Adam Budde told WLBB Radio Wednesday that he will qualify for the District-Three Commission seat following RidleyÂ’s resignation. Budde is a married father of three, and is Manager for BCS, Inc.
This will be the third time Budde has sought the District Three role. He fell less than 50 votes shy of Ridley in the 2017 special election.
Stay tuned to WLBB for details on PooleÂ’s new job with Georgia government and Haralson County residentsÂ’ who announce intent to qualify for the elections for county chairman and district three commissioner.
