Second degree vehicular homicide charges are pending against a 32-year old Bremen woman after investigators say she was distracted while driving, just before her vehicle  struck the rear of a motorcycle, which resulted in fatal injury to its passenger. The driver of the motorcycle is currently being treated in hospital.
Georgia State Patrol investigators say the crash happened Saturday evening after 6:30 at the intersection of Kuglar Road and Georgia 166 in Carroll County.
According to the initial investigation report, a 2018 Chevy Malibu was traveling east on GA 166 approaching its intersection with Kuglar Road. A 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle with two occupants was stopped east in the intersection of GA 166 and Kuglar Road attempting to make a left turn. The front of the Malibu struck the rear of the motorcycle as it entered the intersection.
Both occupants of the Suzuki were ejected after impact.
The driver of the Malibu reportedly told investigators that prior to the crash she was looking back at her passenger and did not see the motorcycle.
36-year old Heather Turner of Bowdon died as a result of her injuries. The 44-year old  driver – a Carrollton resident—is currently being treated for his injuries.
According to the GSP, warrants are being obtained for the Malibu driver. Pending charges include 2nd Degree Vehicular Homicide; No Seat belt; and, Following Too Closely.
