On May 22, 2022, Carroll County Deputies responded to a 911 call advising there was an elderly female deceased at a residence in the 400 block of Askin Creek Road, Villa Rica. Deputies arrived on scene and determined the female, identified as 70-year-old, Clovis Pruitt was deceased as a result of a possible gunshot wound.
Interviews were conducted with individuals who were on scene during the incident which lead to a confession by the victim’s grandson, 31 year old Dakota Greenwood of Villa Rica that he was responsible for shooting and killing his grandmother.
This remains a very fluid and active investigation and more charges are possible, however no further will be released at this time pending autopsy results and further investigatory measures.
