Haralson County deputies are searching for clues to help explain how a woman was seriously injured before she was found lying on Providence Church Road at the train tracks last Sunday morning.
Investigator Heather Mecillas says first-responders found Kayla Roberson of Anniston, Alabama with a blunt-force trauma injury to the back of her head. Roberson is now in an Atlanta hospital in critical condition.
Mecillas says investigators do not believe Robersons injury was caused by a passing train; or that she jumped from a train. However, she does add that Roberson is well-known to have had a fascination with trains.
Mecillas asks that anyone who was traveling on Providence Church Road from 3:30 am to about 5:20 am last Sunday and may have seen anything suspicious, such as cars on the side of the road or anything that stands out, please call the Haralson County Sheriffs Office.
