West Georgia Technical College Students Achieve Top Honors at FBLA National Leadership Conference

CARROLLTON, GA – Seven students from West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) showcased their skills on a national stage at the 2025 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference and Competition, held May 31–June 2 in Dallas, Texas, earning top placements among the best college talent in the nation.

WGTC students who participated in the conference include Christian Putman of Villa Rica, Issachar Joseph of Douglasville, Taylor Lowery of Winston, Cherilyn Rodriguez of Carrollton, Caleb Pierson of Villa Rica, Dalten Dyer of Carrollton, and Amelia Phillips of Greenville.

Competing against more than 1,100 students from over 150 colleges and universities across 27 states, the annual conference offers FBLA members the opportunity to network, attend leadership workshops, and compete in events that test their business knowledge and technical skills.

WGTC students placed in the top 12 in three categories:

Cyber Security Test – 6th Place: Christian Putman
Marketing, Sales & Communication Case – Top 12: Issachar Joseph
Technology & Computer Science Case Competition – Top 12: Taylor Lowery and Christian Putman

“I am immensely proud of the students for their diligent effort and dedication to the competition,” said WGTC Computer Information Systems instructor and FBLA adviser Tammy Frost. “As an FBLA adviser, I take great pride in their achievements and am grateful to the college for its steadfast support of FBLA, providing students with invaluable opportunities for growth and exposure.”

Future Business Leaders of America is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) education association that helps more than 230,000 students prepare for careers in business and related fields. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, FBLA is organized at the local, state, and national levels.
