Villa Rica Police arrest 36-year old man accused of threatening co-workers and assaulting a 12-year old

On February 4th, 2022, Villa Rica Police responded to Sugar Foods Corp. on Industrial Blvd. due to a suspect making threats against other employees.

The suspect, identified as Brandon Vaughn, 36 years old, from Villa Rica, had been dismissed from the company. Following his termination, Vaughn made several calls and sent text messages threatening employees.

A warrant was obtained for the charge of Terroristic Threats—however, Vaughn was not located.

Approximately two and a half months later, on April 18th, VRPD were notified of an incident at Hampton Court Apts. where Vaughn was reported to have assaulted a 12 year old juvenile.

During the assault it was alleged that Vaughn was choking the juvenile to the point that he could not breathe.

An arrest warrant was obtained for the charge of Aggravated Assault however once again Vaughn could not be located.

Earlier this week, almost two months after the second incident, Vaughn was seen at Hampton Court Apts. Officers were aware that he had active arrest warrants and located Vaughn in an apartment.

Vaughn was placed under arrest and transferred to the Carroll County Jail.

Vaughn has been named as a suspect in another assault case that occurred on June 11th, 2022. That case is still under investigation.
