A former Carroll County Commissioner has decided they will seek the Carroll County Chairman job when qualifying begins in April. Former District 2 Commissioner Vickie Anderson is the third candidate so far to tell WLBB radio of their intent to serve the remaining year and a half of former Chairman Marty SmithÂ’s unexpired term.
Anderson served three four-year terms as District 2 Commissioner before deciding not to seek re-election in 2018. Her most recent term ended at the end of December.
In announcing, Anderson said “As a public servant, I always strived to represent what was in the best interest for not only my direct constituents, but all citizens as many agenda items presented for consideration impacted the totality of Carroll County.”
She added, “Through my vast career as a registered nurse, small business owner and elected official, I feel that I’m uniquely positioned to lead as a team player who understands the fundamentals for a strong community.”
District 4 Commissioner Michelle Morgan and District 5 Commissioner Lee Powers have also announced plans to qualify for JuneÂ’s special election.
