The Georgia Department of Labor announced that most of Georgia’s Regional Commissions saw an increase in January unemployment rates.”Georgia’s success is driven by its people, and we remain committed to supporting them every step of the way,” said GDOL Interim Commissioner Louis DeBroux. Northwest Georgia
The unemployment rate was down two-tenths to 3.4 percent over-the-month, the rate was 3.4 percent one year ago.
The labor force was down 2,273 over-the-month and up 1,598 over-the-year, to 454,504.
The number of employed was down 1,119 over-the-month and up 1,375 over-the-year, to 439,066.
Initial claims were up 957 over-the-month and up 243 over-the-year, to 8,002.
Three Rivers
The unemployment rate was up one-tenth to 3.4 percent over-the-month, the rate was 3.2 percent one year ago.
The labor force was down 543 over-the-month and up 1,092 over-the-year, to 268,834.
The number of employed was down 832 over-the-month and up 530 over-the-year, to 259,612.
Initial claims were down 227 over-the-month and down 1,008 over-the year.
