The 3rd annual Beef Festival will be held to promote the beef cattle industry in Carroll County and the greater West Georgia area on Saturday, October 19 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Carroll County Ag Center located at 900 Newnan Road in Carrollton.  The festival will feature a Beef Chili Cook-off, live cattle display and working demonstration, farm-related vendors, kid’s activities, hay rides, and face painting.  Have lunch at the event with beef hamburgers and hotdog plates for $5, $7 brisket sandwiches, and Carroll County 4-H’s famous lemonade.  To enter the Beef Chili Cook-Off contest, bring your award-winning chili in a crockpot and a half table will be available for set up to sample per contestant.  Entry is $10 and prizes will be awarded.  Donations of pet food, livestock food, farming-related supplies, non-perishable food, and bottled water will be collected for Hurricane Helene relief efforts during the event.  For more information contact UGA Extension Carroll County at 770-836-8546.
