Tallapoosa Police are investigating shots fired at a duplex apartment building on Providence Church Road which resulted in injury to a white male resident described as being aged between late 30Â’s and early 40Â’s.
Investigator Mark Worthy believes the shooting victim was the only resident of the home.
“Around 9:30 Tuesday morning we received a call regarding a male who’d been shot one time in the abdomen,” Worthy told WLBB Radio. “Multiple shots had allegedly been fired. Only one gun shot struck the victim.”
The victim was transported to an Atlanta-area hospital. Investigators say they were notified he was in surgery mid afternoon Tuesday.
Worthy says the shooting victim has yet to identify a possible suspect or motive for the shooting.
