Carrollton Police are investigating three separate incidents since Saturday in which multiple gun-shots were fired in public settings. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The first report was called in just after midnight Saturday morning where police responded to a report of gunfire off Adamson Avenue. They found 17 shell casings. No houses or vehicles were struck.
Then Monday morning before 1:00am police responded to a report of “ten rapidly fired gunshots” off North Aycock Avenue. Police found three shell casings. Witnesses told investigators they saw a group of males in a red Chevy Tahoe in the area which may have been involved.
As police were investigating the incident on North Aycock, at least one officer heard additional shots fired from near Maple Street.
Officers learned there had been a shooting outside the Marathon gas station and information led them to a suspect residing at the SOMA Apartments located at 460 Hays Mill Road.
The suspect, identified as 21-year old Ciera Green told investigators she did fire her weapon in the area.
According to the report she said she was in the parking lot of the gas station when she was approached by a white male who was being confrontational. She said that she got in her car to leave the store and the man continued to follow her on foot.
Green stated she continued to drive away, then began to fire her weapon in the air, because she “feared for her life.”
The interviewing officer “pointed out to Green if she was in fear for her life she would have sped away to put as much distance as possible between her and the threat instead of slowing down and firing off rounds in the air,” according to the report.
Green faces numerous charges including discharging firearm while under the influence of drugs. She was released after meeting a $4,000 dollar bond on Monday.
