A former Mt. Zion High School student who was arrested this past February after Carroll County Sheriff’s Office investigators determined he made threats against students at MZHS and Central High School, and – along with two juveniles – was plotting a murder, has been sentenced to serve 5 years after agreeing to a plea deal Monday, that removed one of the two initial charges.
On February 12th of this year – the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reported that “alarming conversations were discovered detailing a murder plot against another student,” involving 17-year old Dylan Gable and two juveniles who discussed how to carry out the plan outside of school.
In April, Gable was indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and terroristic threats. The grand jury determined there was enough evidence to try the suspect for both counts, finding that he possessed a cross bow, a ladder, and a picture of the victim’s residence with the victim’s room circled.
Monday, Gable agreed to a plea deal that removed the conspiracy charge. He agreed to plead guilty to the charge for terroristic threats.
The first six months of the teenager’s 5-year sentence are to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Gable has already spent close to six months in the Carroll County Jail.
The sentence includes a behavior incentive date of 8/4/2028.
Gable is also ordered to earn his GED, participate in an anger management program, and he is to have no contact of any kind with the victims.
