Perhaps you’ve heard by now, the city of Newnan is preparing for a demonstration by the National Socialist Movement on Saturday. But prior to that, the neo-nazi political party has planned a two day meeting at an eatery in Draketown, near Temple.

While the alleged location does have a Temple address, Temple Mayor, Michael Johnson said the establishment is actually 6 miles north of the city limits.

On Friday, the mayor said that he is not worried about civil unrest resulting in the municipality but the city will have extra patrols in case the NSM does travel through the area to Newnan on April 21st.

Although classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the NSM refers to itself as a “white civil rights organization” in the vein of civil rights groups such as NAACP.
