Multiple Minor Injuries Reported After Carroll County School Bus Collides With Stopped Vehicle

Investigators say a 16-year old passenger on a Carroll County Schools’ bus complained of minor injury Tuesday morning after the bus collided with a stopped tractor-trailer.

According to Georgia State Patrol Public Information Director, Lt. Mark Riley:

On April 12, 2022, the Georgia State Patrol Post 4 Villa Rica was requested to investigate a two-vehicle crash on GA 166 in Carroll County. A tractor trailer (V2) was stopped in traffic on Ga-166 North near Newnan Road.  A school bus (V1) was traveling north on Ga-166 North behind V2.  The driver of the school bus was following too closely to the tractor trailer and struck it in the rear with the front of the school bus.  A 16-year-old passenger on the school bus had a complaint of injury but was not transported.  The driver of the school bus suffered a minor laceration on her hand.  The tractor trailer driver also had a complaint (of) injury but was not transported.

Lt. Riley says the information provided are the preliminary investigative findings and this crash is still under investigation.
