CARROLLTON, GA — The Carroll County Board of Commissioners is honoring the life, service and enduring legacy of Dr. Edwin H. “Ed” Grant, whose distinguished medical career, devotion to family and commitment to Carroll County continue to make an impact on the community.
While serving in the United States Army at the U.S. Army Hospital in Würzburg, Germany, Dr. Edwin H. “Ed” Grant met and married Ingeborg Maria “Inge” Grant, a native of Germany, beginning a partnership rooted in family, faith and service.
Following Dr. Grant’s military service and completion of his medical training in radiology, Dr. and Mrs. Grant made Carroll County their home in 1964, where they established deep roots and devoted their lives to serving their family and community.
Dr. Grant established his radiology practice in Carrollton in June 1964 and, through thirty-six years of dedicated medical service, provided generations of patients throughout Carroll County and West Georgia the respect and gratitude of countless families, helping advance the delivery of healthcare throughout the region.
Throughout his remarkable medical career, Mrs. Grant stood faithfully beside her husband, providing unwavering love and support while together they raised their family and built a life defined by devotion, compassion and an enduring commitment to others.
Following Dr. Grant’s death in 2025, Mrs. Grant has continued to exemplify those same values, preserving the legacy they built together through her steadfast devotion to family, community and the citizens of Carroll County.
Through her generous donation of approximately 30 acres of land adjacent to the existing McIntosh Reserve, Mrs. Grant has created a lasting tribute to her beloved husband’s life and service and a significant public investment that will continue to enrich the lives of Carroll County citizens for generations to come.
The Carroll County Board of Commissioners recognizes that the enduring legacy of Dr. and Mrs. Grant is measured not only by decades of service and compassion, but also by the lasting impact of their generosity, vision and unwavering dedication to improving the lives of the citizens of Carroll County.
