Man Dies After Being Crushed By Tool At Work

The Occupational Safety And Health Administration is investigating a workplace incident that claimed the life of a 24-year old Bowdon man early Monday.
According to Carrollton Police, the incident occurred after 5:30 Monday morning at DieTech Industries on Automation Drive in Carrollton. A co-worker of the victim told investigators that a 5-ton die came lose, and rolled on top of the man.
Carrollton Police say they do not suspect foul play behind the incident at this time.
OSHA will determine whether regulations were violated in the workplace to cause the incident. Video surveillance of the incident is available to investigators.
Carroll County Coroner Keith Hancock says the victimÂ’s body has been sent to the GBI for an autopsy.
The victim– who has been employed by DieTech since August of 2017–was to turn 25-years old this weekend.
