A Liberty Baptist Church Teen Group, made up of students from Central High School, Ranburne High School, Heard County Middle School, Handley High School, Bowden High School and Haralson County High School, captured the top prize of $350 at this year’s Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) Video Contest. The video “Why I am Pro-Life” was inspired by the youth department’s passionate stand on pro-life issues in today’s society.
“We believe that God is the giver of life and taker of life. Jesus stated that he had come that we might have life and have life more abundantly. Our teens have a heart to serve the Lord in which we support the West Georgia Right to Life movement,” said Youth Director Adam Mangram of Liberty Baptist Church. “We are so grateful to Duane Hack, of West Georgia Right to Life for giving us the opportunity to support rallies and other activities hosted by the organization.”
The GRTL Video Contest, in its fourth year, is a great opportunity for youth to share their voice about the sanctity of life. The first-place prize for the winner of the Video Contest at the High School level is $350; second place is $200. The college-level Video Contest award grand prize is $650. The GRTL Oratory Contest, in its 20th year, includes a grand prize of $500 and the opportunity to attend and present their speech at Georgia Right to Life’s largest fundraiser, The REACH Dinner; second place prize is $250. The 2023 contest details will be announced soon. For more information, please reach out to Georgia Right to Life at stateoffice@grtl.org.
“We are always blown away by the passion, enthusiasm and fervor of the Georgia Right to Life Oratory and Video Contestants,” said Georgia Right to Life President Ricardo Davis. “There is so much we can learn from young men and women who are diligent, resourceful and thoughtful about the sanctity of life. They are mature well beyond their years and we are so proud of them. They are already a beacon of light in their community and beyond.”
