On Monday, October 12, 2020, utility workers found a body off the side of the roadway in the 3000 block of US Highway 78 and contacted 911.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Hoyt Taylor Daniel, who lives in the area. The victim was deceased and had sustained gunshot wounds.
The GBI Crime Scene Unit was requested and responded to assist in working the scene.
This is an active investigation so no other details will be released at this time.
