A Haralson County fireman was responding to an emergency call when his fire truck rolled into a ditch Saturday afternoon. According to Haralson County Fire Chief Brian Walker, the fire fighter has been released from the hospital after he was treated for minor injuries.
Walker said the first responder was on his way to a residence where a male was reportedly going into cardiac arrest.
He said the fire fighter was traveling on Highway 100 and as he approached Mauk Road, he over-corrected into a turn and hit some lose gravel causing the vehicle to roll over into a ditch.
The driver was taken by EMS to a Floyd County hospital. Walker asked the public to keep the Haralson county fire employee and his family in their prayers.
Walker told WLBB that Georgia State Patrol investigators did not issue a citation relating to the incident.
