Investigators with the Georgia State Patrol say a 73-year old pedestrian died early Tuesday evening after being struck by an oncoming vehicle.
According to Public Information Officer Konswello Monroe, On January 25, at 6:16 p.m., Georgia State Patrol Post 4 Villa Rica was requested to investigate a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in Bremen.
The preliminary investigation shows that a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 49-year old male, was traveling south on Alabama Avenue just south of Silver Leaf Parkway.
Ms. Gertrude “Trudy” Grace Clay, age 73, was walking north on Alabama Avenue and was struck by the Chevrolet Tahoe. Ms. Clay suffered fatal injuries.
Friends say Trudy would be recognized by many in the area for riding her bicycle frequently.
The Georgia State PatrolÂ’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is assisting with this crash investigation.
