On Monday, Southwire announced that the Carrollton-based wire and cable manufacturer had acquired Topaz Lighting Corporation (Topaz) of Medford, N.Y.
Serving the construction, industrial and OEM markets for more than 35 years, Topaz is a leading provider of quality electrical fittings, components, and lighting products.
Through this acquisition, Southwire will welcome employees from Topaz and will integrate their distribution network to enhance Southwires distribution footprint. Topazs existing product line will also be combined with Southwires rapidly expanding Components Solutions and Lighting platforms.

On November 30th, Southwire had announced the local company had acquired OBI Partners, Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia a digital solutions provider focused on electric utilities.
OBI is widely recognized for its portfolio of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and unique suite of advanced analytics and modules designed to extract, aggregate and optimize electrical grid data into intelligent information for utility operators and managers.
