A new crosswalk on Central High Road in Carrollton is nearing completion. The crosswalk, which is located between Chic-Fil-A and Central High School, will have a rectangular rapid flash beacon to provide high visibility warning signs to drivers of pedestrian students. New sidewalks have also been paved for student safety and City Engineer, Tommy Holland, said they hope to stripe the crosswalk in time for school on Monday.
It was a group effort between the county school system, Carroll County and the City of Carrollton,” said Holland. ” We are getting it installed and making it a safer crossing for students and residents in that area.”
Last fall a Central High School student was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the road after getting breakfast from Chic-Fil-A. She was reported in stable condition shortly after.
