CMS Junior Beta Club Shines At State Convention

CARROLLTON, Ga. — The Carrollton Middle School Junior Beta Club earned four top-five finishes at the Georgia Junior Beta Convention in Savannah, Ga. Dec. 5-7, qualifying for the National Junior Beta Convention next year.

Konsih Pisoh took first place in sixth-grade science, the club’s community service showcase earned third, and Neriah Hendrix and Austin Coverson placed fifth in health and physical education.

“These accomplishments represent the dedication of our club members,” said Liberty Thomaston, who has served as the Carrollton Middle School Junior Beta president and is the current state and national president. “Their efforts highlight the strong support we receive from our school and community.”

Under the guidance of sponsors Holly Lane, Sara Sales and Bryant Hand, the Junior Beta Club focuses on nurturing student leadership, academic excellence and service to others. At the state convention, Junior Beta members from across Georgia compete in academic, artistic and leadership-based contests. They present projects, deliver speeches, collaborate with peers and develop skills that help them succeed beyond the classroom.

“Our students set a high standard for themselves, and these results reflect their commitment,” said Principal Eric Simmons. “We’re proud of their achievements in earning this opportunity to represent Carrollton Middle School at the national level.”

The National Junior Beta Convention will be held in Orlando, Fla., in the summer of 2025.
