CHS CLASS OF 2025 OUTPERFORMS NATIONAL AVERAGE ON ACT

Carrollton High School continues to outperform the national average on the ACT, as does the state of Georgia as a whole. CHS ‘25 Class President Blakelee Isbill is pictured giving her speech that highlighted the notable academic achievements and accomplishments of their graduating class.

CARROLLTON, GA – For the last several years, Carrollton High School has outperformed the national average on the ACT, and continues that legacy of academic excellence this year.

Carrollton High School’s Class of 2025 posted a composite score of 21.2, exceeding the national average score of 19.4. CHS also outperformed the nation in all subject areas — English, Math, Reading, and Science.

While some universities have chosen to remain test-optional, the competitiveness of admission means many students submit scores in hopes of differentiating themselves from other applicants. In the state of Georgia, the SAT remains the more common assessment students take for college admission consideration, but the ACT is a popular alternative.

In an increasingly rigorous academic environment, students work to set themselves apart, which may include submitting both ACT and SAT scores or sending a score for whichever test on which they perform better.

“At Carrollton High School, we encourage students to take every opportunity to exercise their skills and demonstrate their knowledge. Providing testing options, including the ACT and SAT, is one way we work to ensure that students have post-secondary success,” said CHS Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning Heather Elliott. “We are proud to celebrate our students’ academic achievement of outperforming the nation on both the ACT and SAT this year.”
