A two-vehicle crash late Wednesday results in the death of a 20-year old Carrollton woman.
Â
According to Georgia State Patrol Investigators:
Â
The crash occurred around 9:36 p.m. on February 27.
Â
A 2012 Ford Fusion driven by 20-year old Savannah Kyndiel Stephens of Carrollton was northbound on GA 1 in the left turn lane for Columbia Drive.Â
Â
A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 32-year old male from LaGrange was traveling south on GA 1 in the right lane.Â
Â
The Fusion failed to yield and turned left into the SilveradoÂ’s path.
Â
The front Silverado struck the right side of the Fusion, causing the Ford to rotate counter-clockwise and travel south a short distance before coming to final rest in the acceleration lane from Columbia Drive onto GA 1 southbound. The resulting momentum forced the Chevy to rotate clockwise and come to a final rest in the painted gore between Columbia Drive and GA 1 and facing north.Â
Â
Stephens was fatally injured in the crash.
Â
The Silverado’s passenger—a 44-year old LaGrange woman—was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. Her condition is currently being evaluated.
