Carrollton Trojans Release Fall Sports Safety Protocols

CARROLLTON, GA – Carrollton High School has released new safety protocols for fall sports that are scheduled to begin this month. The Georgia High School Association has maintained that fall events will still go on as planned with some events beginning before school starts.

CHS Principal, David Brooks, in a letter released to athletes, parents and fans, provides details on ticket sales, seating capacity, and additional COVID-19 mitigation efforts.

“We know the upcoming fall athletic season has created many questions for our athletes and fans,” said Brooks. “Although GHSA has not made any further modifications to schedules, it is our responsibility to put a plan in place that is consistent with our district’s efforts to keep our community safe.”

Brooks said since football games are the most attended athletic events on campus, this reality makes it critical to put the following protocols in place to reduce crowds and congestion in Grisham Stadium:

Current Round I season ticket holders will have guaranteed admission to home games with purchased season tickets. Round 2 season ticket sales will not take place.

Only half of the reserved black seat-backs will be available for season ticket holders only on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the reserved seats have been occupied, remaining season ticket holders will fill general admission seats in the stadium.

Only half of general admission seating will be available for patrons. Limited general admission tickets will be available for purchase at Carrollton High School Monday- Friday during game week.  Any remaining tickets will be sold at the gate. CHS will notify the public each Friday via social media of gate ticket availability.

Trojan games will be streamed live via the NFHS Network. A link will be communicated to the public via social media each week.

To comply with many schools across the region and state, the Trojan Marching Band will not travel with the team to perform at away games and visiting school bands will not attend Trojan home games.

There will be a limited number of visitor tickets allotted to visiting schools to further reduce crowds and congestion.

A modified concession stand will be available.

Masks will not be required but are strongly encouraged for all patrons attending the event.

ALL OTHER FALL SPORTS

Season passes will be available for parents to purchase.

General admission tickets will be available.

All fans will be spaced appropriately to encourage social distancing.

A modified concession stand will be available.

Masks will not be required but are strongly encouraged for all patrons attending the event.

“The above protocols are contingent upon the Georgia High School Association’s (GHSA) guidelines for high school sports,” said Brooks. “Should GHSA make any additional changes to the fall athletic seasons, we will communicate those to our families as soon as possible.”
