Dozens gathered on Wednesday night at the Carrollton amphitheater for a pep rally celebrating New England Patriot football player and Carrollton native, Jonathon Jones. Former coaches, teachers, friends and family, shared stories about the inspirational young man who will be playing in his third straight Super Bowl this weekend. Jonathon’s father, Stacy Jones was overwhelmed by the turnout.
“We really appreciate the community coming out and showing their support for him. He’s just a local home town kid and we are proud of all the achievements. We thank everyone for all their support,” says Jone’s Father.
Jonathon Jones was unable to attend due to practice schedules before Super Bowl Sunday, but Carrollton City Councilman, Gerald Byrd alluded to plans of throwing a parade for Jones post Super Bowl.
