CARROLLTON, GA – The Carrollton Board of Education, at its April monthly meeting, recognized Carrollton High School’s 2022 STAR Student Andy Herndon, right,  and his chosen STAR Teacher, Dr. Laura Rader. The STAR student award is presented to the graduating senior who posts the highest SAT score of his or her cohort and is in the top 10 percent of the class. Andy, who is a captain on the CHS debate team that just one its 12th state title, also is a National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist, joining an elite group of less than 1 percent of high school seniors nationwide. Rader, who has been named STAR Teacher four of the past five years, is his Calculus teacher.
