(Carrollton, Ga. May 22, 2020) The Carroll County School System is pleased to announce the Valedictorians and Salutatorians for the Class of 2020.
We would like to congratulate these ten students on this tremendous achievement! We are grateful for the hard work each has done and for the sacrifices all have made to accomplish this feat. To each one of these students, we encourage you to draw strength from what you learned about yourself along the journey and apply it when you need it moving forward, stated Dr. Travis Thomas, Director of Teaching and Learning Secondary Education and Assessment.
Bowdon High School
Valedictorian Roswell Adams Cole, son of Renee and Benjie Cole
Salutatorian Rileigh Ann-Elizabeth Daniel, daughter of Jennifer and Randy Daniel.
Cole plans to study microbiology and English at the University of Georgia, and Daniel is planning to enroll at Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in chemistry and Spanish.
Central High School
Valedictorian Anna Louise Carnes, daughter of Mandy and Wes Carnes
Salutatorian Courtney Madison Collins, daughter of Sabrina and Sam Collins
Carnes plans to attend Georgia Institute of Technology and major in nuclear engineering. Collins is planning to enroll in Berry College to study mathematics and Spanish.
Mt. Zion High School
Valedictorian Aminata Chloe Thiam, daughter of Dolly Thiam-Baker and Terry Baker
Salutatorian Carly Grace Bradley, daughter of Sandy and Tracey Bradley
Thiam is planning to pursue a degree in Finance at Georgia State University, and Bradley is enrolling at the University of West Georgia to study Nursing.
Temple High School
Valedictorian Amanda Elizabeth Basant, daughter of Savitri and DriPaul Basant
Salutatorian Harrison Grant Miller, son of Hiley and Josh Miller
Basant plans to attend the University of West Georgia to study computational physics and mathematics, and Miller is planning to pursue a degree in bio-pre medicine also at the University of West Georgia.
Villa Rica High School
Valedictorian Caleb Jackson Yarbrough, son of Teresa and Bruce Yarbrough
Salutatorian Nand Sunilbhai Patel, son of Sulochana and Sunil Patel
Both Yarbrough and Patel plan to attend Georgia Institute of Technology and major in business.
