The Carroll County Board of Commissioners Tuesday announced plans for a new facility to be built off Highway 61 in Villa Rica that would host major events.
Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to purchase 69.21 plus or minus acres in the amount of $2,664,585 to be paid for from existing capital project funds.
The properties are located at 2358 and 2365 Carrollton -Villa Rica Highway in Villa Rica.
District 2 Commissioner Clint Chance said Tuesday that this will be used as a Carroll County event center to host major events such as concerts, trade shows, rodeos and festivals and for other governmental purposes to benefit the citizens of Carroll County.
The properties are located north of Flat Rock Road and west of Highway 61.
