A bear sighting in Villa Rica WednesdayÂ…
VRPD responded to a residentÂ’s concern and say they too saw a black bear in a wooded area adjacent to Punkintown Road near its intersection with Shoreline Parkway.
The creature was observed casually walking in the brush and resting in the shade. Officers contacted the Georgia Department Of Natural Resources and advised them of the sighting. Since the bear was not damaging any property or endangering any people, no attempts to contain or relocate the animal were made.
Wildlife officials say if you do happen to see a bear in your neighborhood, do not approach it or intentionally feed it.
According to the Georgia DNR Black Bear Fact Sheet, there have been no recorded bear attacks on humans in Georgia.
