(PRESS RELEASE) CARROLLTON, GA (March 17, 2025) – The Carrollton Police Department’s Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Unit successfully concluded a drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the arrest of Joshua Horton, a 44-year-old male, for trafficking methamphetamine in Carrollton and surrounding areas.
Last month, the ACE Unit launched an investigation into Horton, who was suspected of distributing significant quantities of methamphetamine. On February 13, 2025, the ACE Unit collaborated with the Haralson County Crime Suppression Unit and their assisting agencies to track Horton’s movements. Authorities were informed that Horton was driving into Haralson County with a suspended license, prompting law enforcement to conduct a traffic stop within Haralson County.
During the stop, officers discovered Horton in possession of a trafficking amount of methamphetamine. As the investigation progressed, ACE Investigators secured a search warrant for Horton’s motel room in Carrollton. The search led to the recovery of approximately 28 additional ounces of methamphetamine.
Horton is currently being held at the Haralson County Jail and faces additional charges in Carroll County for Trafficking Methamphetamine.
The Carrollton Police Department remains committed to targeting illegal drug distribution and ensuring the safety of our community. We appreciate the collaboration with the Haralson County Crime Suppression Unit and all assisting agencies in making this arrest possible.
The ACE Unit is a multi-agency team comprised of investigators from the Carrollton Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and University of West Georgia Police Department.
