Carroll County Schools honors 2024 valedictorians and salutatorians

Carroll County Schools announced valedictorians and salutatorians from all five high schools and honored them with a recognition ceremony. Temple High School alumna and attorney Katherine Gargan provided the keynote address.

“These are the best and brightest graduates of Carroll County Schools, and we honor their academic success because it reflects their individual pursuit of excellence,” Superintendent Scott Cowart said. “We are proud of these students for working hard and achieving this milestone, but we know this is just the beginning for them. They are ready for the future, and we look forward to seeing their continued success.”

Valedictorians

Naomi Michelle Kent is this year’s valedictorian from Bowdon High School. Kent will be attending the University of Alabama to study human development and family sciences.

Dylan James Mount is this year’s valedictorian from Central High School. Mount will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology and plans to major in biomedical engineering.

Kaydence Jewel Moore is this year’s valedictorian from Mount Zion High School. Moore will be attending the University of North Georgia and majoring in special education.

Jackson Kase Shirley is this year’s valedictorian from Temple High School. Shirley will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology to study engineering.

Elizabeth Keelin Hartley is this year’s valedictorian from Villa Rica High School. Hartley will be attending the University of Connecticut and majoring in archaeological linguistics.

Salutatorians

Samuel Jay Grizzard is this year’s salutatorian from Bowdon High School. Grizzard will be attending the University of Georgia and majoring in biology.

Hannah Lauren Gibbs is this year’s salutatorian from Central High School. Gibbs will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology and majoring in biochemistry.

Maggi Faye Gibson is this year’s salutatorian from Mount Zion High School. Gibson will be attending the University of West Georgia to major in psychology.

Jackson Paul Andrews is one of two salutatorians from Temple High School this year. Andrews will be attending Berry College to major in broadcasting and communication.

Connie Grace Tarpley is one of two salutatorians from Temple High School this year. Tarpley will be attending the University of Georgia to study mechanical engineering.

Georgia Hope Johnson is this year’s salutatorian from Villa Rica High School. Johnson will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology to study international affairs.

“In Carroll County Schools we are committed to nationally competitive students and commend these students for exceeding academically,” Associate Superintendent of School Performance Dr. Jessica Ainsworth said. “Through Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, world languages and numerous diploma distinctions, our 2024 graduates are prepared for global engagement and we are excited as they continue their educational journey.”
