Carrollton City Schools CCRPI Scores Top State Averages

Press Release provided by: Cali Steed Communications Coordinator Carrollton City Schools

CARROLLTON, GA – Carrollton City Schools achieved success in the 2023 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), topping state averages across various categories.

Overall, the district saw significant growth and improvement in students reading on grade level and above.

In Content Mastery, Carrollton Upper Elementary School achieved a score of 71.4 percent, surpassing the state average of 64.7. Carrollton Elementary School secured a score of 70.5 in the same category. Content Mastery encompasses achievement scores in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, reflecting student performance on state assessments.

Addressing Readiness, Carrollton Junior High School posted a strong score of 84.0, surpassing the state’s 82.3, while Carrollton High School excelled with a score of 83.6 compared to the state’s 71.4. Readiness evaluates whether students are engaged in activities that prepare them for the next level, be it college or a career. For elementary and middle schools, three readiness indicators—Literacy, Student Attendance, and Beyond the Core — are considered.

In Progress, CES achieved a perfect score of 100, outpacing the state’s 84.8. CUES secured a solid 81.8 compared to the state’s 80.8, while CHS collectively scored 86.8 against the state’s 79.2. Progress is measured using Student Growth Percentiles, gauging advancements in both English language arts and mathematics relative to academically similar students.

Carrollton High School achieved a remarkable four-year graduation rate of 91 percent, surpassing the state rate of 84.4, underscoring the district’s dedication to student success.

Carrollton City Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Albertus noted the importance of ensuring the district provides a quality education for all students.

“At the end of the day, meeting students’ needs is what counts. Not a CCRPI score. We acknowledge there is still work to be done, but we also know that we’re making steady and strong improvement each and every year,” he said. “I am very proud of these efforts and applaud our teachers and support staff for truly leading the way toward school improvement.”
