Director of Solid Waste, Jacqueline Dost cut the ribbon in front of two new trash compactors at the Temple Convenience Center. (Located at the corner of Taylors Gin Rd and Old Villa Rd). This marks the end of a 4-year process to complete this renovation that was delayed due to supply chain issues and several weather delays. Chairman Michelle Morgan (pictured holding “Temple” the center’s resident cat), stated “I am proud of the work that has gone into the renovation of this center. Solid Waste has simplified the process for Temple and area residents to drop off their trash and recycling.” Dost is especially proud of the traffic flow that allows for one entrance point into the center and a second gate to exit. Prior to these upgrades, there was only one gate for both cars and trucks entering and exiting. The project was completed with assistance from Carroll County Public Works.
District 3 Commissioner Tommy Lee who serves as the Temple Representative on the Board of Commissioners advised of the newest renovations, “I want to thank everyone who worked on this renovation and this has been a long time needing this upgrade and hopefully this will carry us a long distance into the future and will be easier access for the residents who utilize this facility.”
Temple and area residents can also look forward to the opportunity to recycle glass at this site in the near future. For a complete list of what can be recycled please visit: https://www.keepcarrollbeautiful.org/recycling/convenience-centers/
